Dec 25, 2014 Cricket Bowling Tips – Straighten Bowling Action
by: Coach Pybus Hi, you will need to re-train your body to get into a mechanically efficient bowling position, you will need a a mirror or a window where you can do shadow bowling in front so you can see your action. If you are a side on bowler, then choose a model like Dale Steyn, have a look on youtube so you can get an image of the action to copy.

Back Foot parallel to bowling crease, side ways on, front shoulder points down wicket.

If you are front on, take a look at Malcolm Marshall, back foot points down wicket, shoulders and hips are square, facing down wicket, front arm still needs to be high.

Practice shadow bowling in front of the reflection and you can see the errors, straighten your body up.

Walk into your action so you can consciously control the movements, as you get better, speed up the movements.

You are going to need to be very patient with this, it has taken years for you to learn the poor mechanics.

In copying the bowling action of a great bowler you will learn their mechanics, they will over time become yours.

Best wishes Coach
